Ksenija Sidorova

Ksenija Sidorova was born in Riga in 1988, and took up the accordion at the age of eight.

She studied at Riga 1st music school under the guidance of Marija Gasele. Her studies eventually led her to London, where she from 2005 was a prize-winning undergraduate at the Royal Academy of Music. She has competed in international talent competitions in several European countries, winning the International Accordion Competition in Novosibirsk, Russia and others. Recent concert engagements include performances with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and the Marinsky Theatre Orchestra, as well as an appearance in Wigmore Hall in May 2009. Throughout her career she has won numerous awards, and she was the first accordionist to win the WCoM Prince's Prize. Classical Source says of Sidorova that she is 'an amazingly accomplished artist' that has 'the ability to steal a musical heart'.
