Kristina Mkhitaryan studied with Ruzanna Lisician at Gnessin Musical College, one of the oldest and most prestigious conservatories in Russiand. Upon graduation in 2008, she continued her studies at the vocal faculty of the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music. In 2012, Kristina joined the Young Artist Programme at the Bolshoi Theatre. The same year she took third place at the Francisco Vinas 49th International Singing Competition in Barcelona and second prize at the Obukhova Singing Competition in Lipetsk. In February 2013, she made her debut with The Moscow Soloists orchestra in Sochi, Russia. Kristina Mkhitaryan has recently sung the roles of Xenia in Boris Godunov and the First Lady in Die Zauberflote at the Bolshoi Theatre. She was awarded first prize at the Queen Sonja International Music Competition in Norway in August 2013. Later that year she received third prize at the Neue Stimmen Competition held in Gutersloh in Germany.
