Opera director Kasper Holten and theatre director Alexander Mørk-Eidem are Anders Beyer's new artistic advisors.
– The Bergen International Festival presents arts of the hightest standard, and to link the Festival to artistic advisors who are leading international figures in their fields is a natural consequence. It is with great pleasure I present Kasper Holten and Alexander Mørk-Eidem as my new artistic advisors, says Festival director Anders Beyer.
Kasper Holten and Alexander Mørk-Eidem will advisors in their respective fields of opera and theatre.
Kasper Holten (born 1973) became the youngest person to ever run a national opera company when he was appointed director of the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen at age 26. He is also the youngest ever Director of London’s world leading Royal Opera at Covent Garden.Read more about Kasper Holten here.
Alexander Mørk-Eidem, a 1998 graduate of the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre in Oslo, has since his studies directed a number of theatre productions in Scandinavia. His productions at the National Theatre in Oslo and Stockholm City Theatre have been very well received and in 2014 he won the Swedish Critics Award “because he tirelessly creates contemporary hits out of theatre classics”, as noted in the jury statement.
