Thomas Sandberg invites us into his pulsating mathematical and musical universe.
AlgoRitmo is a playful musical performance that constantly finds new shapes in its interaction with the audience. The award winning and multitalented artist Thomas Sandberg is known for creating amusing, informal, and exhilarating universes where he presents rhythmical music for children in a most elegant manner.
Sandberg digs into people’s algorithmic perception of music, throws in a good measure of humour, and lets the audience pick the ingredients. He runs the whole lot through his algorithmic software mixer and releases a creative work of sound, light, video, and graphics, thereby creating a playground of algorithmic aesthetics to fascinate new generations with its wondrous simplicity and beauty.
Drummer Sandberg’s previous exploits and fabulous ability to communicate with the audience have time and again given the audience the chuckles, as we last experienced in the performance iPlay uPlay wePlay at the 2014 Bergen International Festival. This year he is back inviting us to an experience of wonder, learning, and fun at this first performance of his new creation.
«A truly multitalented artist (…) a firework of virtuosity on so many levels.»
