Orchestrated chaos with wild and exquisite music.
The Australian postmodern diva and cabaret artist Meow Meow has hypnotized, inspired, and vowed theatres filled to capacity worldwide with her unique creations, and now arrives straight from her critically acclaimed shows with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra to visit the Bergen International Festival. Together with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra Meow Meow will create a thoroughly unique evening of songs and music that are simultaneously funny, tragic, and beautiful.
Meow Meow specializes in French chansons and repertoire from the German interwar cabaret scene. You will be treated to Piazolla’s tangos, music by Weill, Brecht, Brel – and even Radiohead – alongside original songs by Meow Meow, Iain Grandage, and Thomas M. Lauderdale from Pink Martini. The New York Post has named the singer a "diva of the highest order" while Berliner Zeitung calls her "the Queen of Chanson".
