Enchanting Sunday close to nature in Sæverud’s own paradise.
The great family day at Harald Sæverud’s property is a valued and popular tradition. “Nature is my workshop”, Sæverud said. The composer’s property in Fana is wonderfully beautiful and he was fond of wandering in the bewitching surroundings at Siljustøl. Many musical works found their inspiration here.
This Sunday at Siljustøl there will be displays of dancing, fun figures and unexpected encounters on the trails. Birds, freedom and captivity are cues which have inspired many of the day’s activities. Young dancers from Bergen Dansesenter will perform classical dance and hip-hop, and in Sæverud's living-room pianist Rune Alver will perform mini concerts created with the young audience in mind. Along the trails the theatre group Dukketeaterverkstedet will make sure there’ll be exciting encounters with fascinating figures and yet unknown bird species. It’s highly likely that the children will sprout wings and beaks before the day is over.
Official opening at 13:00.
In collaboration with KODE’s Composer’s Homes, 1. Øvsttun speidergruppe and Dukketeaterverkstedet v/Jan Holden.
Recommended ages: Suitable for everyone.
