Jazz and flamenco in golden fusion.
Award winning flamenco dancer and choreographer Selene Muñoz completely charmed the people in Os when she last visited the Festival two years ago. This time around she brings with her two generations of Danish jazz drummers in the shape of Niclas Bardeleben and Jonas Johansen, in addition to Cuban double bass player Yasser Pino.
Together these four artists have created their own fusion between flamenco, jazz, and world-music, with an additional hint of Cuba and New Orleans. Their repertoire encompasses a vibrant rhythm universe, passionate temper, and musical surprises combined in a performance where all the artists challenge each other and must step outside their comfort zone.
Characteristic for Selene Muñoz’ performances are astounding musicality, striking costumes, and intercultural collaboration, and she gladly picks up the instruments on stage herself, as in this performance at Oseana.
