Anthony Romaniuk
Genre exploration on three keyboards.
Anthony Romaniuk likes to surround himself with keyboards, and uses them to play in several musical languages. The multi-faceted pianist has a classical grounding and a fierce passion for improvisation.
As a young musician in Australia he was obsessed with jazz, and went on to study classical piano in New York, followed by specialisation in early music in the Netherlands. He has since developed his interest in indie rock and ambient/electronic music, performing at Wigmore Hall in London and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
In February 2023 he released his album Perpetuum, which involves up to six different keyboard instruments in action and contains music by established composers: Bach, Ligeti, Schubert, Adams, Kapsberger, Glass, Stravinsky, Beethoven, Satie, Penguin Café Orchestra, Shostakovich and Ravel, in addition to anonymous composers and Anthony's own improvisations.
In Håkonshallen Romaniuk performs music from his latest album on harpsichord, piano and electric piano.
