Urban club culture meets contemporary dance.
The musician brothers Bert and Stijn Cools' great love for electronic dance music forms the basis for Come On Feet. Together with choreographer Quan Bui Ngoc, they have created a dance performance that combines the energetic, urban club culture with the elegant aesthetics of contemporary dance.
Rapid footwork is the prime focus in Come On Feet. When the lights go out, and the six dancers start moving to the music written by the two brothers, it is as if you yourself are pulled onto the club's dance floor. The music is inspired by several electronic sub-genres, such as house, afrodance and not least footwork – a style of music and dance based on quick foot movements originating from the streets of Chicago.
Among the dancers in Come On Feet are Boule Mpanya, who has worked with choreographer Alain Platel, and the winner of House Dance Forever 2020, Samantha Mavinga.
