Eivør
Skjerjehamn
A voice splendour that reflects the dramatic Nordic coastal landscape.
Eivør Pálsdóttir (b. 1983) had her first TV appearance when she was just 13 years old and released her first album four years later. Since then, she has distinguished herself as one of the foremost representatives of Nordic folk music but has also moved within a number of musical genres. Her voice is often described as gentle, moving and supernatural, reflecting the beautiful, dramatic landscape of her home country, the Faroe Islands.
Eivør won the 2021 Nordic Council Music Prize and has to date released 17 albums. She sings in both Faroese and English and the music draws clear inspiration from Faroese folk music, but you will also find elements of jazz, country music, big bands, trip-hop and classical music. Eivør's compositions have been used in films and TV series such as Game of Thrones, Homeland and The Last Kingdom.
Eivør has performed several times with Vamp, and in 2018 she had great success as part of the Nordvegen concert series during the Bergen International Festival.
In Skjerjehamn, she will perform in duo format with keyboardist Mathias Kapnas. In addition to this outdoor concert in scenic surroundings, Eivør will perform with a full band in the venerable Håkonshallen.
