Fabio Biondi & Europa Galante

Violinist Fabio Bondi is a guest at the Bergen International Festival with his fantastic ensemble, Europa Galante. The chamber ensemble has specialised in Italian repertoire from the Baroque and Classical genres, and is known for its energetic performances, coloured by Biondi's musical curiosity and his flair of capturing the original flavour of the music.

Since its inception over thirty years ago, Europa Galante has played for capacity audiences in the world's most prestigious concert halls. The ensemble's discography boasts several award-winning recordings, including its renowned version of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, acclaimed Record of the Year in five countries.

The musicians in Europa Galante are hand-picked by Biondi, who plays the violin and viola d'amore. In Håkonshallen they perform music by the Italian violin virtuosos and the composers Antonio Vivaldi and Pietro Antonio Locatelli.

During the 2023 festival Fabio Bondi also appears in a solo recital in Grieg's villa at Troldhaugen.
