250 years after Beethoven was born, Canadian violinist James Ehnes
and American pianist Andrew Armstrong
have devoted a large part of their season to the composer.
In Håkonshallen, the duo will perform one of Beethoven's violin sonatas, demonstrating why they are the top choice among concert organizers worldwide.
Ehnes and Armstrong are in the middle of a tour spanning three continents but are taking time to come to Bergen to mentor the young musicians in Crescendo.
The Crescendo programme connects young classical musicians early in their careers with experienced artists so they can listen, learn and play together. At this concert, violinists Sonoko Miriam Welde
and Ludvig Gudim
, viola player Eivind Ringstad
and cellist Sandra Lied Haga
will perform with the Canadian-American star duo.
The programme consists of works by Beethoven, Bartók and Franck.
