JUNO
Playful, driven jazz and hip-hop hybrid.
JUNO explores the boundary area between improvisation and fixed frameworks. In an unusual line-up with two vocalists, a tenor saxophone, double bass and drums, their music takes on a characteristic feel where danceable grooves and complex rhythms meet melodious choruses and explosive speaking vocals.
The five young band members have already established themselves as solid live musicians and have played numerous concerts and festivals across the whole continent.
Their debut album Young Star from 2020 received good reviews from both Norwegian and foreign press. This spring saw the release of their new album Myriad Path, which shows an even more adventurous side to the band.
"JUNO exemplify the new generations freedom from any kind of 'rules', incorporating extremes that previously would have been regarded as having no business together. Hip hop, soulful vocal harmonies, rampant free jazz, pop, post rock in a single dish? Why not?" – JAZZWISE
