Casual OperaPub in a Festival edition.
Did you know that the "mother" of the Bergen International Festival was the opera singer Fanny Elsta? Unfortunately, she didn't get the chance to visit Kulturhuset, but will perhaps be at the Bergen National Opera's popular and casual OperaPub in spirit, where amateurs and professionals perform together.
In Hovedsalen at Kulturhuset, you'll be up close with the singers, in a casual setting. At the OperaPub, the soloists are local amateurs and professional singers, students, choir singers, and sometimes opera stars guest the events.
It's not only the grand and dramatic arias that make their way into the repertoire here, and you can even have a look at previous performances at the OperaPub's YouTube-channel.
