Sara Parkman
With her non-traditional approach to folk music, Sara Parkman has become a figurehead in modern Swedish folk music.
In 2022, the tone-setting violinist and singer released her third critically acclaimed album Eros Agape Philia. The album is inspired by the musician's theology studies and reading of biblical texts blended with philosophy, her mother's good advice and her personal, romantic relationships, resulting in nominations for composer of the year and folk musician of the year at the Grammis (Sweden's Grammy Awards).
Her unusual mix of folk music with pop elements, synthesizers, drum machines and extravagant costumes creates a concert experience belonging somewhere within an undiscovered place between a farm and a nightclub.
'There is a mystical atmosphere in her music that strikes listeners with a primordial force amid contemporary everyday life. – MUSIKINDUSTRIN
