Sondre Lerche’s Neuromantics
Past events:
A musically and visually rare concert performance.
Neuromantics seeks to find new paths into Sondre Lerche's songs and meditates on the central themes of many of his songs: the existential neuroticism of romance.
Lerche brings a stellar team with him to Store Scene at Den Nationale Scene. Harpist Mary Lattimore and violinist and film composer Tim Fain are both from the US. Lerche also brings in his musical partners, Alexander von Mehren on keys, as well as long-term collaborators Kato Ådland and Jørgen Træen. The Bergen based choir Volve Vokal will join them on stage. The choir also joined Lerche last year as he performed three concerts on the three floors of Kulturhuset, to outstanding reviews.
Lerche has always been a headstrong and searching soul, which is reflected even more in his latest releases. Here, electronic experiments and symphonic elements seamlessly meld with his unmistakable enthusiasm for pop, bossa nova and jazz. One can easily expect a world premiere or two, as well as music from Lerche's early beginnings as an artist and up until Avatars of Love.
The latter received four Spellemann (Norwegian Grammy) nominations and won in the category alternative pop/rock. It has been described by critics as a "masterpiece" and "one of the greatest Norwegian albums of all time".
With Neuromantics, Lerche is looking forward to creating a both musically and visually rare experience in his hometown.
