The art of constructing a trap
World premiere by Tore Vagn Lid and Transiteatret-Bergen.
The performing arts company Transiteatret-Bergen returns to the Bergen International Festival with the world premiere of Tore Vagn Lid's new play, The art of constructing a trap. The performance will take place at Det Vestnorske Teater on the first festival weekend.
Transiteatret-Bergen was established in 2001 and works with developing contemporary-oriented and experimental theatre at the intersection between theatre and music. The company is led by director and playwright Tore Vagn Lid and forms a network of key artists and performers in several art disciplines. From the very beginning, the ambition has been to expand the theatre space as a critical space of experience in which the theatre's artistic and musical drama potential is central. As a writing and composing director with both an Ibsen Award and several Hedda Awards under his belt, Tore Vagn Lid steps further into the role of playwright and composer with The art of constructing a trap.
Transiteatret-Bergen has previously visited the festival with performances such as DUB-Leviathan (2015), Fatzer (2012), Elephant Stories (2009) and Die Maßnahme (2007). During this year's festival, the two-times Hedda Award-winning play 03:08:03 States of emergency, a real-time reconstruction of the afternoon of July 22, 2011, will also be shown.
