My Body My Home
Approx. 1 h
Collective power in motion.
In a society dominated by strict ideals related to body image, My Body My Home is an invitation to see the beauty in every individual. Here, the performance highlights the dancers’ bodies, ages and abilities, and on stage, there is space and room for everyone.
Choreographer Daniel Mariblanca's 71BODIES is an inclusive dance company that works with and within marginalized groups. He was last featured in the Festival programme with A True Story in 2023.
"My Body My Home is an invitation to the audience to become our allies, to experience deep ways of expressing tenderness, courage, love, friendship, affection and beauty. This is our revolution! A gentle revolution that speaks to the heart." – Daniel Mariblanca
Video: Ursula Kaufmann
Performed in Norwegian and English
There will be visual interpretation available at the performance Wednesday 4 June. Please register beforehand by e-mailing betty@dansit.no.
Visual interpretation is a description of the visual information that is otherwise obtained through the sense of sight. The visual interpreter's task is to describe the visual expression of the performance so that the audience with a partially or fully impaired vision can interpret a more multifaceted artistic experience for themselves.
Audiences who wish to take advantage of this offer can borrow headphones and a receiver, and are asked to meet in the foyer at least 15 minutes before the start of the performance.
Audiences who are light-sensitive should bring their own sunglasses or similar to protect themselves from the sharpest changes in light.
