About Grieghallen

Grieghallen has been the main venue of the Bergen International Festival since its opening in 1978. In the grand Griegsalen, with a capacity of more than 1600 people, both the Festival's opening and closing performances are presented every year. In 2022 the programme starts with Taylor Mac – A 24-decade history of popular music, and 15 days later the Closing Concert, with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth, and pianist Paul Lewis as a soloist in Grieg's piano concert in A minor, will be the last event of the Festival. 

Inbetween these two events you can experience an opera concert with Salome, cult symbol Peaches, two of the world's greatest pianists on the same stage, new music for big band by Frode Grytten, Knut Vaage and Anne Marthe Dyvi and street dance from Chicago – and much more.
