The 2020 Bergen International Festival has reached many people through the screen. More than 25 performances are still available at fib.no.
The 2020 Bergen International Festival consisted of streamed concerts and performances. In August the number of started streams had passed one million, from 122 countries, and the number continues to grow.
‘Although streaming figures cannot be compared to ticket sales or number of visitors, we are delighted and grateful for this overwhelming response’, says Festival director Anders Beyer.
With a digital festival, it was possible to extend the festival period beyond the normal 15 days in May/June, and all events were published for at least a month. More than 25 concerts, performances and debates continue to be freely available at fib.no this fall.
‘This year’s festival is without any cost to our audience members, and a unique one-off offer dictated by the extraordinary conditions the spring of 2020. I’m hoping people will take advantage of this offer until the very last second, and experience all the wonderful artists who performed at Bergen’s beautiful venues’, says the Festival director.
