Most had never seen the sea before. Many could not swim. Few returned from the loss that has been called "The Black Titanic". The musical performance SS Mendi - Dancing the Death Drill is a powerful and poignant celebration of life at the moment of death. Based on Fred Khumalo's book about those who experienced the accident. The piece is staged and performed by the award-winning Isango Ensemble.
