Irene (46) will go on a blind date at the opening ceremony. Are you the one she should meet?

This year’s Festival opens Wednesday 24 May at Festplassen with the performance What Is the City but the People? Here, 150 well-known and unknown people from Bergen will walk on an enormous, yellow catwalk while they are presented with photos and short fragments of stories from their lives.

One of these people is Irene (46), who has accepted to go on a blind date on the catwalk in front of thousands of people, including Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway. Now, the Festival is looking for a man who is as sporty as Irene.

And even if the blind date happens under somewhat unusual circumstances, it’s very real. The two people will first meet when they go out on the catwalk, before they head out for lunch afterwards.

That’s why we can’t say too much about Irene, but we have some information: She lives in Landås and works in a kindergarten. As a person, she’s social and active, likes both nature and culture, and going out with good friends.
