Apply as a

young composer

Are you a composer aged between 20 and 35? If so, you could have your work performed at the Bergen International Festival 2026!

Deadline Sunday October 19th 2025.

Through the Bergen Festival Academy (FAB), the Bergen International Festival aims to provide a platform for emerging young musicians and composers, creating a meeting place where they can inspire each other.

During the festival period from 27 May to 10 June, there will be a dedicated FAB programme featuring masterclasses, mentoring, concerts, performances, open rehearsals, meetings with festival artists, and social events.

The Bergen Festival Academy is looking for composers aged 20–35 for the 2026 programme.

Selected composers will have their works performed at the festival and will receive mentorship and workshops with musicians in early spring 2026.

There are no fees for the selected composers, and the Bergen International Festival will cover travel and accommodation.
