Monteverdi Choir
Festival square
Baroque and Renaissance music from one of the world’s finest choirs.
"If the Monteverdi Choir isn’t singing when I get to the gates of Heaven, I want my money back," wrote The Daily Telegraph when the choir performed at the coronation of King Charles III.
The British Monteverdi Choir specialises in Baroque and Renaissance music, and this Thursday at the Festival square the audience can hear the choir’s apprentices perform music by Henry Purcell, including from the opera Dido & Aeneas, as well as works by John Dowland under the open sky.
You can also hear the full Dido & Aeneas in Grieghallen, with the Monteverdi Choir and the English Baroque Soloists on Thursday 4 June at 19:00.
