You’re invited!

Through Invitert, we invite people who would like to experience a Festival event but who, for various reasons, can’t get there on their own.

Working with non-profit organisations and local meeting places, the project reaches people who rarely take part in cultural life. There are many reasons why someone might not come to the Festival, and we want to meet those reasons with understanding, practical support and a warm welcome.

How does it work?

As a participant in Invitert, you receive:

a free ticket to an event
transport to and from your home if you need it
the chance to meet other invited guests before the performance, at a friendly gathering with light refreshments

The programme is adapted to different circumstances and needs. On the day of the performance, participants meet the Festival's volunteers outside the main entrance and are looked after from start to finish. The volunteers wear green t-shirts reading FESTSPILL INVITERT, so they're easy to spot. When the performance begins, everyone goes into the auditorium together, and the volunteers remain on hand throughout. Afterwards, participants are accompanied out of the hall and down to their transport.

The aim is to make it easier and safer for more people to take part including those with reduced mobility or other challenges that can make the threshold feel high.

Invitert isn't only about experiencing art and culture, it's also about community. It creates room for conversation, new encounters and experiences shared with others.
