New works by Jo David Meyer Lysne.
In an intimate concert at Kulturhuset, two works by composer Jo David Meyer Lysne will be performed.
Lysne is a participant in Premiere, the Bergen International Festival's mentoring program for young composers.
'Jo David Meyer Lysne is a distinctive composer with a personal and poetic artistic voice that will be interesting to continue to follow. Self-built instruments, microtonality, electronics and improvisation are all elements of his musical universe,' says Festival director Lars Petter Hagen.
On the programme is Lysne's work for brass and cello, written for a solo cello and a kinetic brass sculpture. Performing with the sculpture is cellist Amalie Stalheim, who has turned performing new works of music into one of her trademarks.
This evening, a commissioned work for a string trio that Lysne has written for this festival concert will also see its world premiere. Joining Stalheim on stage are violinist Sara Övinge and violist Bendik Foss.
