A playful concert experience.
On a walk in the forest, little T-Sound gathers sounds for his collection while his companion Boss insists they should use the sounds to create a museum.
The story of this newly written children's performance is told through song, music and giant, colourful illustrations created by the children's book author Åshild Kanstad Johnsen. She is the creator of the books about Kubbe and is known for her characteristic, delightful drawings.
The music was written by this year's festival composer in residence, Øyvind Torvund, for the piano and percussion quartet Yarn/Wire. During the festival, a new version of the performance will be premiered. Torvund's music consists of both sci-fi sounds, synth melodies and recordings from nature and is performed on a variety of instruments.
The proposal for a children's performance originally came from the American quartet Yarn/Wire, who have collaborated with Torvund for a number of years.
'I liked the idea of writing for children, and imagined a kind of 1970s muppet show that was about recording sounds and using them in a large exhibition,' says Torvund.
