A portrait of the Norwegian Soloists’ Choir and Grete Pedersen.

The Norwegian Soloists’ Choir celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2025. The choir’s Artistic director for the past 35 years – and this year’s Festival musician – Grete Pedersen, is also stepping down from the position this year. To mark the occasion, the book Stemmekunst – Det Norske Solistkor i 75 år is being published, edited by music journalist Bodil Maroni Jensen.

In addition to a historical overview of the choir’s development since its founding in 1950, the book serves as a portrait of Grete Pedersen, told through the voices of singers, composers, and collaborators they have worked with – texts that offer a unique insight into and understanding of how she and the ensemble work.

Meet Grete Pedersen, Bodil Maroni Jensen, and singer Øystein Steinsheim in conversation with Sigurd Sandmo. Musical performance with folk singer Berit Opheim, who has also contributed text to the book.
