Bach, Mozart, Ravel and Piazzolla on violin and piano.

Violinist Olga Melby Larsson from Laksevåg in Bergen has already established herself as an active soloist and chamber musician. She will appear in three concerts at the 2026 Bergen International Festival – this one at the King’s official residence in Bergen, Gamlehaugen, as well as a soloist performance with BIT20 Ensemble in Korskirken, and with cellist Amalie Stalheim and young string players at Det Vestnorske Teateret.

Joining her at Gamlehaugen is pianist Nikita Khnykin from Oslo, who is steadily building an impressive list of accomplishments in the classical music world, including appearances at the Festival as part of masterclasses and in concert with Prof. Jiri Hlinka’s Piano Academy.

Together they will perform a romance by Amy Beach, sonatas by Mozart and Ravel, before closing the evening with Nightclub 1960 by the Argentine bandoneonist and composer Astor Piazzolla. The Prelude by Bach in the beginning of the programme is for solo violin.

In 2026, the Festival will present a series of five concerts at Gamlehaugen featuring young string players and pianists taking part in the Festival Academy of Bergen – an annual meeting place for the musicians of tomorrow.
