Would you like a concert for lunch?
This was the title of a 1983 newspaper article in local newspaper Bergens Tidende about the Drop-in concerts. The question is still relevant in 2027 as engaged music students from the Grieg Academy fill the concert series with music at 12:00 and 15:00 most days during the Bergen International Festival.
The concert series has since its beginning in 1974 enjoyed popularity among students, and older audiences as well as tourists visiting Bergen. The Drop-in concerts have a relaxed atmosphere and a broad spectrum of musical genres and expressions, with a focus on classical repertoire. There will be concerts with everything from solo performances to a chamber music.
Musicians and repertoire for the Drop-in concerts will be announced on this page in May 2027.
